about

you may be wondering why vol. three is being released when vol. two is not currently out yet. simply put, vol. two is sitting on my drive waiting to go out, but i wanted to get this out first because it's more interesting. and i couldn't call this vol. two because i already have a vol. two, so it's vol. three. it also has a subtitle, because unlike vol. one and vol. two, vol. three is an actual album instead of a collection of ambient soundscapes.

vol. three is a collection of two sides, one with two roughly 10 minute pieces, and one with a 20 minute piece. both sides are built around the idea of four track recording with eighties synthesizers. no more than four tracks of audio were used to mix this album, and each track was built off of improvisation using common synthesizers from the 80s. if you remember my album Spectra, it's a similar concept to the improvisational pieces from that album, although much more refined yet raw at the same time. the technique has been refined since two years ago, however this time around i strove for the results to sound much more raw and grungy. there is heavy heavy amounts of cassette saturation on this album and it has not been properly mastered; this album will not be sonically clean or perfect. it's dirty and gross and that's the charm of it.
