about

nine robintronics loops recorded using my new setup. gone is the old boss pedal, used previously for fuzz and volume. the new setup is both entirely in the box and yet entirely outside the box. i've acquired a behringer foot controller used for controlling the volume and wah pedals in my software, as well as for engaging the ever signature "beeps" quite common in later frippertronics. the volume and wah pedals follow a fuzz box being fed by my more recently acquired les paul. all of this feeds into a looping setup that is then output directly to tape running at 9.5cm/s, on the yamaha 4 track cassette recorder i acquired slightly less recently (the one that's been heard so far only on "untitled ambient split 4" and "roland compu-rhythm 78", my collection of roland CR-78 drum samples).

each of the four sides represents a single suite, with each loop being considered one part of each suite. the sides are arranged in order of recording date, with side one having been recorded in early december of 2019 while the following sides were all recorded during the first week of january 2020. each side was recorded in one pass, and is presented here exactly as recorded, albeit stereoized in a similar manner as all of my other robintronics releases and treated with a small amount of plate reverb.

side four here is a single continuous performance and therefore is treated as such; conceptually however the loop is divided into three sections, and the streaming version of the album will have side four split into these three parts
