exposed is vol. 1 in my new series "robintronics".

robintronics is defined as the musical experience at the interstice of lauren "robin" sinclair and a small, mobile and appropriate level of technology.

pretentious asshattery out of the way, robintronics is my own application of tape based live looping techniques inspired by robert fripp of king crimson and his own technique known as "frippertronics". this collection of recordings was taken from several performances of robintronics to an audience of my bed and my computer.

a total of four loops were excised from two performances, one on the 30th of december and one on the 1st of january. the remaining two loops were recorded as test loops prior to another performance on the 28th of december. the loops have not been edited in any way save for shorter fadeouts being applied. the original loops spent an average of two or three minutes fading out and an editorial decision was made to shorten these up for the album.

future collections in the series will primarily be based on performances from after the start of the new year. these earlier performances were among the first and as such are a little rough around the edges. some sonic explorations have occurred in subsequent performances that have drastically changed the timbre of robintronics, rendering these earlier performances archaic already.

future collections will also likely sound different amongst themselves as i search ever onwards for new sounds and timbres to integrate into robintronics. just like how frippertronics is more of a system based on live looping techniques rather than just a description of live looping techniques, robintronics is a system based on live looping techniques, made unique by my application of it as well as my note choice and instrument choice.
